Opening Stage

  • 2 groups of 9 teams (8 games)

  • Winners of each group play in the opening stage final

Closing Stage

  • A single round-robin format with the 18 teams playing each other once. (17 Games)

  • Winner of closing stage qualifies for champions playoff unless they finish below 9th in the overall tabl

Champions Playoff

  • Contested by the top 4 teams in the overall table to determine overall winner

  • Game will not be played if one team wins both stages

Relegation

  • Bottom 2 of overall table

  • 16th in overall table plays a playoff against a team from the lower leagues

Other

  • Maximum of 5 foreign players in the starting 11

Continental Qualification

  • Two teams qualify for Copa CONMEB0L Libertadores Group Stage

  • One team qualifies for Copa CONMEB0L Libertadores Second Qualifying Round

  • One team qualifies for Copa CONMEB0L Libertadores First Qualifying Round

  • Four teams qualifiy for Copa CONMEB0L Sudamericana First Round (Depending on winner of Copa Bicentenario)
