Season 11 – Sparta Prague, Czech First Division

I don’t want to come across as braggy so I’m not going to say too much about this season, other than the team I’ve built is absolutely insane. We broke all manner of club and league records and my players picked up a fair few awards – even the ones out on loan home and abroad.

We won the Czech-Slovak Cup thingy 1-0 this year, but I played mostly kids.

We won all but one game in the league until February, only losing 3 in total and winning the rest up until the split. We very nearly won it before the split, until I decided to announce my resignation at the end of the season which I think affected the players mentally. Then again, once the league split we had a record of 3-1-1 so they weren’t too cut up about it – and we did seal the deal against Plzen who are one of Sparta’s big rivals.

I withdrew my resignation, which I think helped. I’m not decided now on what I’ll do as I’m getting itchy feet but I love the team. We did lose another wonderkid, this time to Liverpool, who looks as though he’s going to make it. I can also feel another enforced rebuild coming on.

We dropped the lead twice to Plzen in the Cup final, and eventually lost 5-3 on penalties which was disappointing. In Europe, we drew Barca, RB Leipzig and fucking Legia Warsaw, losing twice to the Catalan giants but winning the other games. Then of course we drew Bayern Munich in the next round and took an 8-3 molesting off them. Kuntz.

The youth system is absolutely insane and even if I bought no one and sold a few starters, I honestly think we’d compete. Like I said, unsure on what I’ll do next. I’ve had interviews and offers from bigger clubs, but we’ll see. We’re also building a 32k seater stadium which we’ve funded entirely out of cash, which is a testament to the work we’ve done in the transfer market.

Season 11.5 – Sparta Prague, Czech First Division

Another rebuild was on the cards after I lost a few starters, including a left back who I’d converted to left winger for a release clause much below my valuation of him. Cunt.

I won my first six games, but we crashed out of the Champions League after a 4-4 draw, losing 2-1 in the away leg and only winning 3-2 at home – to fucking Legia Warsaw. In the second leg, we’d put ourselves far enough ahead to make it through before a collapse similar to the one in the first leg, so I resigned in a strop and ended up unemployed until November.

I do feel a bit bad because Preston came out and said they pulled the trigger on their manager because I told a reporter I was intrigued and then bailed on them.

I had numerous offers from top division clubs in the bigger leagues around Europe, and I almost ended up in a few of them, but the lure of managing in a top league proved too much to resist, so I ended up at…
